Terms and Conditions

Draft UK-focused terms for initial launch. Not legal advice.

1. About this service

These Terms apply to the Star Learning website and any related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts and who may use the Service

  • Parents/guardians may create and manage accounts for themselves and child learners.
  • Child accounts are intended to be used with appropriate adult supervision.
  • You are responsible for keeping login details secure and for activity that happens under your account.

3. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the Service, attempt to break security, or interfere with other users.
  • Do not upload or submit unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate content.
  • Do not submit personal data about a child that is not necessary for using the Service.

4. Educational content and availability

The Service may link to or display third-party educational materials and resources. We try to keep content accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee that external resources will always be accessible.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may update, change, or remove parts of the Service.

5. Feedback and reports

If you use the in-app “Report” feature, you agree not to include sensitive information in free-text fields (for example, medical details or full home addresses). We may use reports to improve the Service and to address safety or safeguarding concerns.

6. Intellectual property

We own or license the Service’s design, code, and branding. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning purposes. You must not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service without permission.

7. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss arising from reliance on learning outcomes.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to inform users.

9. Governing law

These Terms are intended to align with UK law. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of the United Kingdom (subject to any mandatory consumer protections).
