About Us

Hello, and welcome to AstraLearners.

There is a wonderful, unique energy that comes with a home-ed day. It’s in the creative projects scattered across the kitchen table and the deep dive conversations that spark out of nowhere. It is the thrill of seeing a complex concept finally "click" or watching a casual question turn into a week-long exploration of a brand-new subject.

We're not a corporation or a big team of software executives. We’re just a mum and dad from South Wales living in a house full of creative chaos, trying our best to figure this out as we go.

Our home education journey began back in 2020. Due to world events, we started teaching from home, but thanks to our circumstances, we had a very soft landing. We are incredibly fortunate that my job allowed for remote work, and my wife had the time to dedicate to our child's learning. We don't take that privilege for granted, especially knowing how many families have their hands forced under much harder circumstances. What started as a temporary measure quickly turned into a lifestyle we fell in love with. We’ve spent years navigating the beautiful, rewarding reality of this community, and we've loved every minute of it since.

But loving this lifestyle doesn’t mean it’s easy. The endless admin, the lost paperwork, the end-of-the-day worksheet battles. And hanging over my head was the creeping dread of the future: What happens when they bring me a Year 10 Physics paper? How am I supposed to mark that?

Instead of waiting around to find out, we decided to tackle the problem the best way we knew how.

Because we’ve worked together for years (I’m the tech guy, my wife is the ideas person), we started building tools to solve our little problems. We wanted a way to put our child's work side-by-side with the answer sheets so we didn't have to pretend to be subject experts, and we wanted a secure place to neatly organise our day and trips out. As we built more and more tools, we realised others might be able to benefit from these tools as well. That’s how AstraLearners actually started.

We believe a child’s digital footprint should be their own to define, which is why the platform is designed as a completely private environment.

The system is engineered so that nobody—not even us—can access your child’s work.

For the last three years, we’ve run a home-ed Minecraft Club, and we’ve seen firsthand how powerful learning becomes when it’s backed by the right tools and a sense of fun.

We built this because we know how hard you are working. We know what it takes to earn a child's attention when there are a million other distractions. We just wanted to make something that takes the weight off your shoulders, so you can focus on what really matters: enjoying the discoveries, the questions, and the adventure of learning together

Thanks for being here. We’re so glad you found us.
