1. OUR PRIVACY PROMISE
At AstraLearners, we believe your family’s educational journey should be private and secure. We follow a "Privacy by Design" approach, meaning we build our features to protect you from the ground up. We adhere to GDPR and UK Data Protection laws to ensure your data is handled with the highest care.
2. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We only collect the minimum amount of data needed to provide our services.
PARENT DATA: We collect your name and email address to manage your account, billing, and to send you important updates.
CHILD LOGIN DATA: Parents choose a "Login Username" for their child. This is private and used only for accessing the account. We recommend not using the child's real name here.
CHILD DISPLAY NAMES: Our system automatically generates a fun, anonymous "Display Name" (e.g., GalaxyWalker22) for use in games or leaderboards.
LEARNING DATA: We track lesson progress, quiz scores, and "Key Stage" levels to provide an accurate educational experience and generate reports for parents.
3. SECURE "ZERO-ACCESS" STORAGE
Our cloud storage (for Learning Logs, Passports, and Reports) is designed like a digital vault:
Private by Default: All files are stored in a secure environment. No other users can see your files.
Temporary Access: When you or your child want to view a file, the system creates a unique, temporary link that expires automatically.
No "Peeking": Because of this high-security setup, AstraLearners staff do not browse or moderate your private files. You are responsible for ensuring your uploads are appropriate.
4. WHERE DATA IS VISIBLE
To keep the platform fun and gamified, there are a few places where limited info is shown:
Leaderboards & Awards: Other users may see your child’s Generated Display Name and their Key Stage.
No Social Features: We do not allow peer-to-peer messaging, so your child cannot be contacted by others.
5. THIRD PARTIES AND COOKIES
We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties.
Essential Tools: We use necessary tools to keep the site running, such as secure hosting and basic cookies that keep you logged in.
Google Search Console: We use this to understand how our site appears in search results. It does not track your child’s personal learning data.
Legal Compliance:
We only share data if required by a valid legal order (like a court order).
While our 'Zero-Access' storage prevents routine monitoring, we reserve the right to cooperate with UK law enforcement and regulatory bodies (such as the NCA or ICO) should we be served with a valid legal warrant or order, as required by the Data Protection Act 2018.
6. YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS (GDPR)
Under Data Protection laws, you have full control over your family's data. You can:
Request a copy of all data we hold for you.
Request that we fix any incorrect information.
Request the permanent deletion of your data at any time.

7. DATA RETENTION & SECURITY
We store your data only as long as your account is active. If you choose to leave AstraLearners, you can request that we wipe your data from our systems. We use industry-standard encryption to protect your information while it is stored and while it is being sent to your device.
